The sector we came from

Melt shops, secondary metallurgy and casting. This is where ARINA's process knowledge was built, and it is still the majority of what we do.

04Plant engineering

A steel plant is an unforgiving client. The process runs continuously, the equipment works at the edge of what materials tolerate, and an hour of unplanned downtime costs more than most engineering studies. Design decisions made in an office get tested in that environment every heat.

We work across the whole melt shop: the furnace and its auxiliaries, the ladle furnace and degasser, the caster, and all the material handling, cooling and fume treatment that keeps them fed and within permit. Greenfield plants, brownfield conversions and the studies that decide whether either goes ahead.

// What this covers

What we do in this sector

01

Electric arc furnace

Vessel and platform design, cooling circuits, fume extraction, charging and tapping equipment, and the Level 1 and Level 2 control that runs them.

02

Ladle furnace & secondary metallurgy

LF, VD and VOD engineering, alloy addition and stirring systems, and heating models accurate enough to hit final temperature within a few degrees.

03

Continuous casting

Billet, bloom, beam blank, round and slab machines, plus tundish, mould and strand-guide engineering and commissioning.

04

Plant engineering

Material handling, cooling and balance of plant, electrical distribution, civil and structural work, and the FEED that ties them together.

Where we have done it

Tata Steel IJmuiden and Port Talbot, Salzgitter, HKM, POSCO, Hyundai Steel, NSC Yawata, Vinton Steel, Sidenor, Nervacero, Megasa and ArcelorMittal. More than 40 end-user engineering references and equipment installed in over 50 steel plants across four continents, including 20+ continuous casting projects as main contractor.

Send us the plant, the constraint and the timeline. You will get an engineer's answer, not a brochure.
